Hi, I’m Mike LeClair, and I am the Marketing Specialist and Content Creator at Secret City. We’re looking for an ambitious, creative Social Media Coordinator to join our team for a summer internship. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with our studio team on our upcoming experiences and productions, build your skills and experience, and leave a lasting impact.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating a bi-weekly community newsletter, creating unique and dynamic video content for social media, and assisting on photo and video shoot campaigns. The Social Media Coordinator is part of the studio department collaborating on new and exciting immersive experiences and adventures.
Wondering what your time at Secret City might involve? Here are some responsibilities you’ll have:
Collaborating in the research and development of creative social media campaigns and strategies that align with the brand's goals and values.
Creating social media content (videos, photos, posts) for Tik Tok, Instagram reels, and Youtube Shorts using newly created or pre-existing assets.
Collaborating with the Design team in order to design, photograph, and record new content and marketing assets for experiences.
Preparing our bi-weekly newsletter, gathering assets, articles, links, and promotions from key team members in order to facilitate and execute newsletter distribution.
Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn coordination, including UGC promotion, reposting, tagging, contest management, and channel engagement and outreach.
What you bring to the table:
Experience with photography, video editing, and content creation for digital platforms.
Ability to manage multiple social media campaigns, collaborate with team members, meet deadlines, and stay organized.
Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva, Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator, and video editing software such as CapCut and Adobe Premiere Pro is considered an asset.
Experience using social media management tools, such as Hubspot or Hootsuite, is considered an asset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with copywriting and blogging is considered an asset.
Ability to work independently on projects as well as collaborate with partners and stakeholders.
Can work under the pressure of tight deadlines.
Outgoing, keen interest in learning through application.
A sense of humour and an understanding of current social media trends and how these trends can be applied to the Secret City brand.
You get excited by immersive experiences, escape rooms, games, puzzles, and/or digital design.
To be qualified for this role
You must be currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution with a focus on communications, marketing, media communications, business, or another related field.
You must be registered in a co-op program, internship program, or require work experience that directly relates to your field of study in order to graduate. This is because of funding requirements.* (see below for details)
You must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or granted refugee status. This is because of funding requirements.* (see below for details)
You’re able to work from our Toronto studio for occasional in-person meetings, and be onsite at our different experiences in the GTA when needed for production.
You must share a portfolio or website with relevant examples of your work.
