Employment: Part Time Contract, 20 hours / week

Contract Term: August 12, 2024 - December 20, 2024 (5 months)

Compensation: $75K - $88K per annum (prorated) based on experience 

Location: Remote (Canadian-based in EST / PST time zones)


Overview:

Secret City is seeking an experienced and dynamic Intermediate Product Designer to join our team. As an Intermediate Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in the conceptualization, design, and delivery for our clients, whose industries range from commercial kids products to complex health systems, mostly in the start up, Angel and Series A stages. 

As an Intermediate Product Designer, you'll be embedded in our Studio team and collaborate with producers, marketers and creatives. You’ll also be closely aligned with our clients’ cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and marketing, to create user-centric designs that meet business goals and user needs. Your expertise in UI/UX design, combined with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of current design trends, will be essential in producing high-quality digital experiences. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand project requirements, user needs, and business objectives.

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications.

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on design solutions.

  • Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all digital products.

  • Work closely with developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs.

  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into your work


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2-4 years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design work for digital applications.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools like Framer.

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices in UI/UX design.

  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.

  • General knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
