Hi, I’m Usman Basharat, and I am the Head of Finance & Operations at Secret City. We’re looking for an ambitious, and detail oriented Finance Coordinator to join our team for a summer internship.

As a Finance Coordinator, you will be working closely with me and our Operations and Studio teams, responsible for supporting financial analysis, reporting, and project management. This position is perfect for someone who is interested in the immersive experience and entertainment industry, and looking to gain hands-on experience and learn more about financial operations.

Wondering what your time at Secret City might involve? Here are some responsibilities you’ll have:
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including analysis of variances and trends.

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process, contributing to the development of financial models.

  • Help in the optimization of financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Engage in cross-functional projects with operations, marketing, and sales to provide financial insights and analysis.

What you bring to the table:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Excel and other financial modeling tools; experience with accounting software is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of financial statements, investment principles, and market trends.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • An enthusiastic learner, open to new ideas and experiences in a fast-paced, creative environment.

  • You get excited by immersive experiences, escape rooms, games, puzzles, and/or digital design.

To be qualified for this role
  • You must be currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution with a focus on Finance, Accounting, Business, or another related field.

  • You must be registered in a co-op program, internship program, or require work experience that directly relates to your field of study in order to graduate. This is because of funding requirements.* (see below for details)
